Profit is not a 4 letter word

I was in a Zingerman's training session recently and the topic was The Value of Beliefs in Business. One of my classmates said "Profit is not a four letter word" and it really resonated with me.

I believe very deeply in supporting my community and employees, but I've always believed profit is important for any successful business. As I tell my employees, "I don't expect you to work for free, and I don't expect to work for free either."
